Chicago Bears place WR Kevin White on IR

The Chicago Bears have placed former first-round WR Kevin White on IR with a fractured fibula.

The Chicago Bears announced today that former first-round wide receiver Kevin White will be placed on Injured Reserve.

White suffered a high ankle sprain in the Week 4 contest against the Detroit Lions that resulted in a fractured fibula in his left leg. It is the same leg that White suffered a shin fracture last year, which caused him to miss the entire regular season.

GM Ryan Pace said the two injuries are not related and that the Bears have not ruled out White returning later this year. The team is not yet sure if he'll need surgery but they're not ruling it out. If White does return, he'll have to sit out at least the next eight weeks.

The Bears placed another former first rounder, CB Kyle Fuller, on IR earlier this year. Teams can only activate one player off IR, meaning White or Fuller, or both, is done for the season.
