Chicago Bears hire Zach Azzanni as wide recievers coach

The Chicago Bears have hired Zach Azzanni, formerly with the Tennessee Volunteers, as the team's new wide receivers coach.

Per multiple reports, the Chicago Bears have hired Zach Azzanni to be the club's new wide receivers coach. The team has not yet officially announced the move.

Azzanni was most recently the receivers coach and passing game coordinator for the Tennessee Volunteers, where he has spent the past four seasons. He began his career working under Urban Meyer at Bowling Green in 2001 as a general assistant before being promoted to WR coach in 2003.

Azzanni served as receivers coach at Central Michigan from 2007-2009, where he coached Steelers Pro Bowl WR Antonio Brown, before re-joining Meyer at Florida in 2010. He was then hired by Western Kentucky as offensive coordinator, a post he held for just one year before taking the WR coach position at Wisconsin in 2011.

Azzanni replaces former Bears receivers coach Curtis Johnson, who left Chicago to take the same position with the Saints last month.
