The Chicago Bears today will sign former Houston Texans S Quintin Demps.
The deal will be worth roughly $4.5 million per season.
Demps is a nine-year NFL veteran who turns 32 in June. The former fourth-round pick has played for the Eagles, Giant and Texans during his career.
In 2016, Demps had 9 pass brakups and 6 INTs. Over the last four seasons, he has 15 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles. His ability to force turnovers surely appeals to a Bears team that tied an NFL record for fewest turnovers in a season last year.
His age is a concern but Demps brings experience and leadership to a safety position lacking in both.
