According to multiple reports, the Chicago Bears will soon sign OT Tom Compton. The team has not yet confirmed the acquisition, although teammate Kyle Long hinted at it on Twitter.
Compton was a sixth-round pick of the Washington Redskins in 2012. He played four years for the Redskins and signed a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons last season.
Compton (6-5, 308) has started just 10 games during his five-year career, nine of which came in 2014. The 27-year-old has started just one game the past two seasons combined.
Compton is a veteran depth piece who will likely compete for Chicago's swing tackle position.
