Chicago Bears release Eddie Royal, Will Sutton, more

The Chicago Bears have parted ways with four veterans, including WR Eddie Royal and DL Will Sutton.

The Chicago Bears have waived DL Will Sutton, FB Paul Lasike and OL Cornelius Edison, and released WR Eddie Royal.

Sutton was the team's 2014 third-round pick. He played 36 games the past three season, rotating between 0-technique, 3-technique and 5-technique. An accomplished pass rusher at Arizona State, Sutton is still waiting for his first NFL sack, which surely played into the decision to cut him.

Royal was signed to a three-year deal during the 2015 off-season but injuries marred his time in Chicago, as he played just 18 games the past two seasons combined.
