Stanley Pritchett broke a 10-yard run gave the offense another set of downs to work with, but three consecutive passes from Chandler to WR David Terrell yielded just one completion for four yards.

Key plays: Denver Lenny Walls bit on a playaction fake from QB Chris Chandler and Marty Booker clearly beat cornerback. In an act of desperation Walls dragged Booker to the ground, which resulted in a 45-yard pass interference penalty that brought the ball to the Denver 17. Three consecutive runs moved the ball to the Denver 1, but the Bears couldn't punch it in the end zone.

Key plays: QB Chris Chandler hit receivers David Terrell and Marty Booker on consecutive completions for gains of 10 and 13 yards respectively. A 7-yard catch by TE Desmond Clark gave Edinger just enough room to clear the crossbar on a kick that tied his career long.

The gain put ball at the Chicago 11, but S Mike Brown injured Portis on a touchdown saving tackle. The Bears defense stifled the Broncos attack and forced them to settle for a field goal.
