"Isn't it great," Berrian said. "We're making some noise. Fresno State is well represented on this team. The best part is that I'm coming in here already knowing Cameron and Bryan. We were friends in Fresno and we're friends here. It's really helped me in my adjustment to the Bears and to living in the Midwest."
The 6-foot-1 183-pound WR/Return Specialist was born December 12,1980, the son of Sallie and Joseph Berrian. His brother Tony runs track for Arizona State. Bernard attended Atwater, California, High School and was named Player of the Year in 1988.
During his 2003 season at Fresno State, Berrian was selected third team All-American as an all-purpose back by The NFL Draft Report. In 2001, he tallied 2776 yards, a school record. After tearing the medial collateral ligament in his right knee against Wisconsin in the first game of the 2002,Berrian had to sit out the rest of the season. Back at full strength once more, Berrian led his team in 2003 with 63 receptions for 668 yards.
Berrian comes to the Bears with a reputation as a big play artist who excels at catching the ball returning kickoffs and punts and coming out of the backfield on reverses. He has game breaking speed and impressive leaping ability.
