The Chicago's 5th Quarter Players Foundation was formed a year ago when a group of former NFL players from various teams across the country but who now call Chicago home, met to discuss how they could help less fortunate children and young people in the Chicago area.

The Foundation's goal is to show appreciation to those fans who supported them during their professional years by giving back tot he community in which they now reside. The Foundation is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation staffed by volunteers.

Former players who are donating their time include Chicago's All-Pro Center Mike Pyle; former Rookie of the Year Ronnie Bull; former DE and FB Robin Earl; quarterback Bob Avellini; St. Louis Cardinal TE Chuck Logan; Gloster Richardson, a WR who played on a Super Bowl winning Dallas team and for the Kansas City Chiefs; and Ted Hendricks, a Hall of Famer from the Oakland Raiders.
