Where are they now?

It's time to catch up with three former Bears, including one that hosts a nationally televised show.

Brian Baschnagel (WR-DB, Bears 1976-84) is manager of marketing services for North American Corp., a multi-division distribution company. He lives in Glenview, Ill., with his wife Mindy and their children, Mallory, 18, Allie, 17, and Luke, 15. Baschnagel completed his eighth year as an NFL uniform inspector and serves on the board of the Chicago Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

Terry Schmidt (DB, Saints and Bears 1974-84, Chicago 1976-84) is chief of dental service at the James A. Haley Veterans Medical Center in Tampa, Fla. He and his wife Nancy live in Lutz, Fla., and have two children and a grandchild. The Schmidt's annually participate in dental missions to Guatemala to provide dental care for indigenous Mayan Indians. Schmidt's hobbies include scuba diving in the Caribbean.

Merril Hoge (RB, Steelers and Bears 1987-94, Chicago 1994) is entering his eighth yea as pro football analyst for ESPN television. He hosts the Emmy-nominated weekly EA Sports Matchup Show with Ron Jaworski and Suzy Kolber. He lives in Fort Thomas, Ky., with his wife Toni and their two children, Kori, 10, and Beau, 7. Hoge serves as chairman of the Foundation Board for the Western Pennsylvania Caring Foundation, a grieving center and health-care provider. Hoge likes to get away his cabin in Idaho where he enjoys snow skiing, snow mobiling, bow hunting and fly-fishing.
