Odds don't favor Bears

The national view of the Bears is that Lovie Smith's initial season as head coach will be a rebuilding process. The Vegas oddsmakers are in agreement with the media, listing the odds on Chicago winning the Super Bowl at 30/1.

At this time last year Carolina was a long shot to win the Super Bowl, but not for a last second field goal from Adam Vinatieri the game would have went into overtime. The unpredictable nature of the NFL even burns the Vegas oddsmakers.

According to the gaming website vegas.com, New England (4:1), Philadelphia (7:2) and Minnesota (6:1) are the top three favorites to win the Super Bowl. The other top contenders include Green Bay, St. Louis and Indianapolis – all at 7:1 – and Kansas City at 8:1.
