Tim Couch worked out for the Bears Friday afternoon and threw approximately 50 passes. He is scheduled to have another workout today.

If Couch is signed it will not be until after Sunday's game because results of his MRI need to be evaluated.

Right rotator-cuff tendonitis left him with no velocity on his passes, which led to his release from the Green Bay Packers.

--DE Adewale Ogunleye has a sprained right ankle and won't play Sunday, but the Bears insist on listing him as doubtful, a downgrade from Wednesday's questionable.

--QB Jonathan Quinn would start if the game were "Thursday night," offensive coordinator Terry Shea said Thursday afternoon, but coach Lovie Smith doesn't intend to make it official until game time.

--QB Craig Krenzel got 45 percent of the snaps and hasn't been ruled out as the starter, but coach Lovie Smith may wait until game time to decide.

--OG Ruben Brown (knee) has been upgraded from questionable to probably and is expected to start after missing last week following arthroscopic knee surgery to remove loose cartilage. --DT Alfonso Boone (knee) remains questionable with a sprained knee that has kept him out since Week 2. --FB Bryan Johnson (knee) has been upgraded to probable.

--WR Charles Lee (knee sprain) did not practice Thursday and is now out for Sunday's game against the Bears. WR Joe Jurevicius and Bill Schroeder took reps in his place with the first team unit.

--WR Joey Galloway (groin) did some running and individual work in Thursday's practice, but has been ruled out.

--WR Michael Clayton leads all rookie receivers with 31 catches for 443 yards (14.3 average).

--DE Greg Spires is quietly having the best year of the Bucs' defensive linemen. Spires is tied with Anthony McFarland for the team with three sacks and leads all defensive linemen with 34 tackles.

--DT Josh Savage, who has been inactive in every game this season, will be active against the Bears Sunday with the injury to DT Ellis Wyms (shoulder).

--CB Dwight Smith (knee) was added to the injury report Thursday, but he is expected to play Sunday against the Bears.

--DE Ellis Wyms (shoulder) is not expected to play vs. the Bears.
