Scoring Summary: Buccaneers 19, Bears 7

Jonathan Quinn might have had his best half of football, but it still resulted in a goose egg on the scoreboard. With a little help from the defense, the Bears avoided a shut out with a Thomas Jones touchdown, but it was nowhere near enough.

SECOND QUARTER: K Martin Gramatica 22-yard field goal at 13:25. A 46-yard punt by Brad Maynard pinned the Bucs inside their five yard line. The Bears had Tampa in a 3rd and seven with a chance to get the ball back in great field position, but Tommie Harris jumped offsides and then hit QB Brian Griese after the whistle, which drew an unnecessary roughness penalty. Griese converted another third down when he lofted a ball to Michael Pittman, who beat Brian Urlacher for a 46-yard gain putting the ball at the Chicago 25. It looked like Tampa would reach the end zone when FB Mike Alstott had consecutive gains of 14 and 9 yards, but the defense held them to a Gramatica field goal. Drive: 10 plays, 92 yards in 5:21. Buccaneers 3, Bears 0.

SECOND QUARTER: WR Michael Clayton 6-yard touchdown reception from QB Brian Griese at 0:48. For the second straight drive the Bucs started inside their 10 yard line and came away with points. The Bears defense couldn't stop Tampa on third down, as they converted all four attempts, including a 19-yard run by Michael Pittman on 3rd and 15. PAT by Gramatica was good. Drive: 16 plays, 93 yards in 7:55. Buccaneers 10, Bears 0.

THIRD QUARTER: K Martin Gramatica 22-yard field goal at 12:27. Jason McKie fielded the second half kickoff and fumbled the ball as he took a hit to his knee. The Bucs recovered at the Chicago 44. Consecutive runs of 12 and 19 yards by Michael Pittman put Tampa inside the red zone. Jon Gruden decided not to go for it on fourth and one from the 4. Drive: 6 plays, 40 yards in 2:28. Buccaneers 13, Bears 0.

THIRD QUARTER: RB Thomas Jones one-yard touchdown run at 3:45. In danger of being blown out, Brian Urlacher forced a Michael Pittman fumble that Todd Johnson recovered at the Tampa 31. Craig Krenzel hit Desmond Clark for 13 yards and a first down at the 15. Thomas Jones rushed the next four plays reaching the end zone for the fifth time this season. PAT by Paul Edinger was good. Drive: 6 plays, 31 yards in 3:17. Buccaneers 13, Bears 7.

FOURTH QUARTER: RB Michael Pittman three-yard touchdown run at 8:52. An errant pass from Krenzel was tipped by Bryan Johnson and ended up in the hands of Ronde Barber, who returned it 23 yards. Pittman reached the end zone on his third carry. Drive: 3 plays, 11 yards in 1:34. Two-point conversion was no good. Buccaneers 19, Bears 7.
