Bears Sign Matthews to Practice Squad

The Chicago Bears filled out their practice squad today signing linebacker Roshaun Matthews.

A spot was created when Chicago signed wide receiver Ahmad Merritt to the active roster from the practice on Saturday.

Matthews, a 6-3, 247 pounder out of Southern University, was orginally signed by New England as an undrafted free agent in 2000, was waived a month later and signed by Baltimore at the start of training camp in 2001.

He was waived by Baltimore prior to the start of the 2001 season and most recently was a member of the New Orleans practice squad, signing on Dec. 19 before being released on Dec. 26.
