Bears Re-sign McMillon

While the Bears have been unable to sign a veteran quarterback, the team did solidify their kick coverage by re-signing special teams ace Todd McMillon to a one-year deal on Thursday.

McMillon, who was an unrestricted free agent, set a new career-high in special teams tackles each of the last four seasons including 21 to rank second on the Bears last season.

The 5-11, 188-pounder heads into the 2005 season with 50 career special teams tackles, second among current Bears players. The sixth-year Bears player has also increased his games played each season of his career, playing in a career-high 14 with one start at cornerback in 2005.
