Bears Ink Berlin

The Bears have added their fourth free agent acquisition this off-season. The team agreed to terms on a one-year deal with receiver and special teams standout Eddie Berlin.

Berlin has posted at least 10 special teams tackles in each of his four seasons with the Tennessee Titans for a total of 42. He will be expected to contribute on punt and kick coverage for the Bears.

The 5-11, 195-pounder will also add depth at receiver; a position the team carried just four players on the 53-man roster last year.

The unrestricted free agent has spent his four NFL seasons with the Titans after being drafted by Tennessee in the fifth round (158th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft.

Berlin set career-highs with 20 receptions for 278 yards last year, while matching his career high with 16 games played and making his first NFL start. Of Berlin's 20 receptions, 14 produced first downs.

The Northern Iowa product has played in 57 career games, catching 24 passes for 370 yards and two touchdowns.

Berlin also returned 30 kickoffs for a 19.5-yard average over his first three seasons and returned punts for the first time in his career in 2005, averaging 3.7 yards on seven returns.
