Projected Pick: Mid-late second round
Patrick Ramsey has seen his stock rise over the past month. The senior quarterback from Tulane had a solid week of practice in Mobile and performed well in the Senior Bowl.
Ramsey has a very strong arm allowing him to throw the deep pass. He is very accurate and delivers his passes with zip. He is a true pocket passer and his lack of speed does not help him. He also must improve his consistency. He looks like an All-American quarterback one play and totally different the next.
Ramsey had a solid career at Tulane throwing 46 touchdown passes over his final two seasons. He shattered Shaun King's (Tampa Bay) single season passing record with 3,410 yards during his first full season as the Green Wave quarterback. He completed just over 57% of his passes in two seasons as the starter.
Patrick Ramsey has displayed great work ethic and could be on the board when the Bears pick in the second round. His lack of mobility is not so much a problem with an offensive line as capable as the Bears who allowed the fewest sacks in the NFL last season. He must improve against the blitz to be a more efficient quarterback in the NFL. He is a project who could pay dividends in one or two years.
