The Bears on NFL Network

The Bears will have four of their five preseason games this year carried on the NFL Network's expanded preseason coverage.

The NFL Network has become more of a player in the broadcasting of league games each year since its inception in 2003. This year, the network plans to televise 55 games in full in a 25-day span and four of the Bears' five preseason games will be available on tape delay.

The Hall of Fame Game vs. the Dolphins on Aug. 8th is the only contest that will not be broadcast on the network. However, it's available to a national audience on ABC.

The schedule of games may require fans to activate their TiVo to get them down, but the schedule is as follows:

* Four days after the preseason opener, the Bears travel to St. Louis to face the Rams. The game will be broadcast at 9 a.m. CDT on Sunday, Aug. 14.

* The Bears' game at Indianapolis will be shown on tape delay at 11 p.m. CDT Saturday, Aug. 20.

* The Bears vs. the Bills will be rebroadcast at noon CDT Saturday, Aug. 27.

* The preseason finale vs. the Browns will be shown on tape delay at 4 p.m. CDT Saturday, Sept. 3.

For fans outside the reach of the local Chicago media market, this may be the only chance for Bears fans to see games during the preseason. So, for fans with the NFL Network, mark down these dates and times to see how Rex Grossman looks and how the position battles shape out.
