Close Call

How close did you come to signing with Miami?

It was pretty close. It was a tough decision it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. At the end I just wanted to be in Chicago.

What persuaded you to stay?

There's a lot of reasons (for staying) but mainly just my coaches and teammates. I like being around the guys. I have a lot of fun with them. That was the main reason.

There were some guys (Teammates) calling and they were calling pretty often. They weren't trying to pressure me or anything they were just saying well make the best decision for you but we really want you to stay. That means a lot when people call you. It just makes you think that people want you to stay around.

Was it difficult to turn down more money?

Obviously it wasn't the biggest issue it still was a major issue. That's a lot of money no matter which way you put it. I know I left a lot of money on the table in Miami but I just wanted to be in Chicago.

Will the money change you?

It will probably change everybody around me.

I'll just try to play the way I've played. I signed for that amount of money because of the way I've been playing. I think that's why they signed me. As long as I keep doing what I've been doing I think I'll be fine.

Did you every think you would make that much money?

No. Most times idiots don't.
