FIRST QUARTER: WR Muhsin Muhammad 3-yard touchdown reception from QB Kyle Orton. A big play by Nathan Vasher helped the Bears take the lead. The cornerback caught a poor pass from QB Jake Delhomme and returned it up the sideline 46 yards. With first goal from the 8, RB Thomas Jones picked up 5 yards on first down. Following an incomplete pass by Orton going to Muhammad, the duo hooked up on third down. PAT by Robbie Gould was good. Drive: 3 plays, 8 yards in 0:44. Bears 7, Panthers 0.

K Robbie Gould 33-yard field goal at 5:41. Another pick by Vasher of Delhomme netted the Bears points. Following a 22-yard return of the interception by Vasher, the Bears took over at the Carolina 18. A false start penalty on Fred Miller started things going in the wrong direction. Jones gained 8 yards on a first down carry, but a drop in the end zone by Muhammad saw a touchdown go by the board. The veteran receiver also failed to haul in a third down pass that would have come up short of a first down. Bears 10, Panthers 0.

SECOND QUARTER: Gould 39-yard field goal at 7:52. An encroachment penalty on DT Jordan Carstens moved the chains on third and 2 without having to snap the ball. Orton and Muhammad connected for a 12-yard completion and another first down. The next play Jones followed the lead block of FB Bryan Johnson for a 20-yard gain. He rushed 4 times for 27 yards on the drive. The Bears failed to move the ball inside the red zone and settled for another Gould field goal. Drive: 8 plays, 44 yards in 3:26. Bears 13, Panthers 0.

FOURTH QUARTER: John Kasay 38-yard field goal at 8:31. Delhomme found rhythm on the drive completing 5-of-6 passes for 56 yards. A third down completion from Delhomme to Smith picked up a first down and personal foul penalty on Alfonso Boone tacked on 15 more yards. Despite being in 1st and 20 following a holding penalty, Delhomme hit on consecutive passes of 12 yards. A short completion to Smith turned into a 19-yard gain thanks to a move past Charles Tillman by the speedy receiver. A sack by Alex Brown slowed the momentum of the drive. Chris Harris just got a hand on a ball that would have resulted in a TD pass to Ricky Proehl. Drive: 11 plays, 61 yards in 5:46. Bears 13, Panthers 3.
