Even with the reserves playing the bulk of the game, the Bears defense gave up more points against the Vikings than any other opponent this season.

Starting near midfield, QB Brad Johnson hit WR Travis Taylor for 21 yards on the first play of the drive. The play proved to be enough to tie the game, as Edinger connected from long range. Drive: 5 plays, 19 yards in 0:54. Bears 3, Vikings 3.

RB Ciatrick Fason 2-yard touchdown run at 7:41. The Bears had a field goal nullified by a holding penalty and the Vikings capitalized on the miscue. Johnson connected on all 5 passes for 55 yards. RB Mewelde Moore took advantage of poor tackling for a 33-yard run that started up the middle and turned outside. PAT by Edinger was good. Drive: 8 plays, 90 yards in 4:38. Vikings 10, Bears 3.

THIRD QUARTER

With their starters still on the field, the Vikings marched down the field against the Bears second-string defense. Johnson remained patient in the pocket and often settled for short completions, as he hit 6-of-9 attempts for 47 yards on the possession. Three different backs combined for 49 yards on 6 carries. FOURTH QUARTER

A blocked punt gave Minnesota's offense first and goal from the 8, but Chicago's defense kept them out of the end zone. Drive: 4 plays, -1 yard in 1:06. Vikings 27, Bears 3.

WR Justin Gage 4-yard touchdown reception from QB Jeff Blake. The Bears ended 27 unanswered points with their third string quarterback at the helm. RB Michael Bennett 61 yards rushing touchdown at 5:20. The Bears poor tackling allowed the Vikings to score more points than any other opponents this season.
