Each stop on the two-day, four city tour will feature a meet and greet session with Special Olympics athletes, a press conference with local media, followed by a breakfast, luncheon or after hours fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. A limited number of tickets are available to the general public for the fundraising event. Fans interested in attending one of the tour stops should call the Special Olympics hotline at (888) 232-4389. Event tickets are $50 each and all net proceeds will benefit Special Olympics Illinois.
The ticketed event will be emceed by Bears radio color analyst Hub Arkush and will feature commentary from Coach Jauron and a question and answer session with the players. Drawings will be held at each event for Bears merchandise and memorabilia. Information on 10-game ticket packages and group tickets for the 2002 season will also be available.
Earlier this year the Chicago Bears announced an exclusive charitable partnership with Special Olympics Illinois for the 2002 season. The Bears will be actively involved with Special Olympic Illinois through player appearances, ticket donations, fundraising events and awareness programs.
