Danieal Manning/S/Abilene Christian – He'll challenge for playing time on special teams returns and projects to play free safety. He could challenge second-year FS Chris Harris for playing time as Harris didn't play well against Carolina in the playoffs.
Devin Hester/WR-/Miami-Fla. – Here's a big play developmental cornerback that could also challenge for playing time on special teams returns. At some point he could used as a receiver.
J.D. Runnels/FB/Oklahoma – Will challenge for the second fullback spot.
Tyler Reed/G/Penn St. – According to a league source, he was a player that the team targeted before the draft to provide depth at guard.
Ernie Sims/LB/Florida St. – He was a target of many teams who play the "Tampa-2" defensive scheme but some teams backed off because of concussion issues. Sims will compete for playing time right away against Alex Lewis and James Davis but will expected to take over the starting job fairly soon.
Anthony Cannon - Practice squad candidate.
Green Bay Packers
A.J. Hawk/LB/Ohio St. – Figures to start right away on the weak side over undersized WLB Robert Thomas. Hawk adds badly needed talent to their front seven and could develop in to one of the best linebackers in team history.
Daryn Colledge/OL/Boise St. – Should compete for one of the starting guard spots and could certainly prove to be an improvement at either spot.
Cory Rodgers/WR/Texas Christian – Could challenge for the fifth receiver job but mostly likely a practice squad candidate.
Will Blackmon/CB-WR/Boston College – He's expected to play wide receiver only and has a chance to make the roster as their fourth or fifth receiver.
Ingle Martin/QB/Furman – Decent shot to make the final roster as their third quarterback and could develop down the line as their No.2. Tony Moll/OT/Nevada – Decent shot to make the final roster as a backup.
Dave Tollefson/DE/Northwest Missouri St. – Actually has a shot to make the final roster as the fifth end but really a practice squad candidate.
Cedric Griffin/CB/Texas – Known as an underrated cornerback, Griffin should compete for the nickel job this season.
Tavaris Jackson/QB/Alabama St. – They hope he'll be ready to take over the starting job in year three. Jackson has a lot to learn but has a big upside and head coach Brad Childress works very well with young signal callers.
Ray Edwards/DE/Purdue – He'll get a chance to compete for the fourth end job.
