UDFA Analysis: WR Mark Philmore

The Bears have several young receivers on the roster trying to establish their game at the professional level. There could be an opening at the bottom of the depth chart for a wideout who can contribute on special teams. Mark Philmore is a long shot to make the team, but is headed to Bourbonnais. Find out what TFY Draft Preview thought of the undrafted free agent WR before the draft.

Full Name: Mark Philmore School: Northwestern Pos: WR

Ht: 5-9 Wt: 178 40: 4.64 Year: 4Sr

Bio: Two-year starter and all-conference selection who posted 55/662/6 as a senior after 54/633/2 the prior year.

Positive: Fundamentally sound wideout with potential as a return specialist. Separates from opponents and consistently extends to catch the ball away from his frame. Offers consistent hands and works to keep the play in bounds.

Negative: Not a heavy-duty receiver who can take a pounding and hold onto the throw. Lacks top-end speed and does not stretch the defense.

Analysis: A solid collegiate receiver productive in a passing offense, Philmore will have to earn his wage as a punt returner in the NFL.
