Bears Sign CB Trumaine McBride

The Bears continue to waste no time signing their 2007 draft picks. Trumaine McBride, a seventh-rounder from Mississippi, is the second cornerback to ink a deal in two days after fifth-rounder Corey Graham on Monday. While Graham is still recovering from an injury he suffered last season at New Hampshire, McBride got plenty of action in this past weekend's mini camp at Halas Hall.

Per the Chicago Bears:

LAKE FOREST, IL — The Chicago Bears signed cornerback Trumaine McBride to a four-year contract today. McBride was selected by the Bears in the seventh round (221st overall) out of Ole Miss and is the fourth of nine players chosen by Chicago in this year's draft to sign with the team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McBride saw action in 47 games at Ole Miss, ending his collegiate career with 34 consecutive starts at RCB over his final three seasons. The Clarksdale, MS native recorded 124 tackles (93 solos) with 5 TFLs, 4 INTs, 35 passes defensed and a blocked kick in four years at Ole Miss (2003-2006). He led the Rebels in passes defensed during his senior (9), junior (8) and sophomore (16) seasons.

McBride joins third-round pick Garrett Wolfe (93rd overall) and fifth-round selections Kevin Payne (167th overall) and Corey Graham (168th overall) as Chicago's signed draft picks. The Bears five draft picks yet to sign are first-round pick Greg Olsen (31st overall), second-round pick Dan Bazuin (62nd overall), third-round selection Michael Okwo (94th overall), fourth-round pick Josh Beekman (130th overall) and seventh-round selection Aaron Brant (241st overall).
