In the Chicago Sun-Times, Mark Konkol continues the saga of Brian Urlacher and his bitter battle with Tyna Robertson, the mother of his two-year-old son, Kennedy. "Robertson claims Urlacher had sent her more than 30 nasty text messages since January. In those messages, he allegedly called her a 'hooker' and 'jealous bitch,' among other things, and once made this suggestion: 'make one of your pimps drive you around,' according to court papers filed Friday in their child custody case." At ESPN.com, Len Pasquarelli reports that the Bears have cut ties with J.T. O'Sullivan despite the fact that he was named co-Offensive MVP of NFL Europa this season. "The move came only three weeks before the defending NFC champions are scheduled to report to training camp and reflected O'Sullivan's status as a long shot to win a roster spot. Chicago currently has four other quarterbacks – starter Rex Grossman, veteran backups Brian Griese and Kyle Orton, and undrafted free agent Chris Leak, who led the University of Florida to a national title in 2006 – on its depth chart." At FOXSports.com, Adam Schein reveals his nine players with the most pressure on them in the NFL this season, and believe it or not, Rex Grossman is not one of them. "Will he be suspended? Will the Feds bring charges against him? Is Vick the right fit in Bob Petrino's offense? Can Vick ever develop chemistry with first-round disappointments Mike Jenkins and Roddy White? And will Vick improve on his spotty throwing from last season, which included horrendous games against Cleveland, New Orleans, Carolina, and the Giants?" Read the rest of Schein Right Here ...

At Yahoo.com, Jason Cole tells us that 14 NFL teams are currently $10 million or more under the 2007 salary cap as we speak, but are the Bears one of them? "One of the biggest offseason free-agent spending sprees still wasn't enough to eat up much of the NFL's available salary-cap space. As a result, the league could be in for another significant rise in player salaries this year and next." Read the rest of Cole Right Here ...

Here at BearReport.com, the experts at Scout.com collaborate for another edition of the Inside Slant, which focuses on the Tank Johnson aftermath this week. "Because he was not charged in his latest run-in with police, Johnson might still be eligible to have his eight-game NFL suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy reduced to six games. When that penalty was handed down, Commissioner Roger Goodell said Johnson's suspension would be reduced if he 'have no further adverse involvement with police.'"
