In overtime, cameras caught offensive coordinator John Shoop irate after wide receiver Marty Booker had failed to get open over the middle on a third-and-five pattern run toward the sidelines. The Bears had to punt when Jim Miller unloaded incomplete to avoid a sack, and the Bills went on the winning drive.
It was obvious from the on-camera incident Shoop thought Booker got held on the play, but he bit his tongue afterward.
"We had our best player on the defender that we wanted and it just didn't work out," Shoop said. "I have no comment on the officiating."
In saying he had no comment on the officiating, Shoop actually revealed what bothered him. He hadn't been asked about a penalty, just what he was reacting to on camera.
