What I see as our responsibility is to give the Bears offense the best possible position on the field. Then, we need to get them the ball. That's how you score points and come out on top.
I'm still working on the ankle that was I injured during training camp. It's definitely getting better week by week, but I can tell that it's not quite at 100% yet. In the NFL, your body needs to be in good shape to make the moves that you need to make. That's why proper rehabilitation following an injury is so important.
The morale of the team is still very high. We know our situation right now and we're working with what we've got. The coaches are putting the game plan for Green Bay in place and they are working with us on it. We're watching the films and working on defensive plays. These two teams are pretty familiar with each other, but there are still some things to learn.
Everybody knows that the Packers have one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League. Their offense can kill you. It's the job of the defense to be sure that Favre doesn't get the chance to do what he'll want to be doing, which is make a lot of passes and run up the score on us.
This rivalry is new to me, but I definitely hear a lot about it from the veteran players. It's going to be an interesting experience. I hear that things can get wild, that the intensity level is unbelievable. I think that's true in any of the Monday night games, though. The fact that this game features the Bears-Packers rivalry can only make the situation more important to this team. Our goal this week is to play with our heads in the game, not to get any more injuries, and to come out on top of the Packers.
