They Said It: Bears Postgame

Several Bears addressed the media in the Soldier Field locker room after Sunday's 20-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and was there to hear what they had to say.

CB Charles Tillman
On the success of the Kansas City offense in the second half:
"They hung with us. I think a lot of the time when teams get plays, it's not so much what they do but what we do. So we've got to go back to the drawing board and get it right before we play Dallas."

On the tipped pass to Manning for an interception:
"It seems like you have a lot of time to think about it (tipping the pass), but when the play is going on I have a million things going on. It was just a reaction. I saw it and said, 'Okay, I have to tip it.' Honestly, I just tried to bat it down. Danieal made a hell of a play running to the ball and bringing it out of the end zone."

OT John St. Clair
On his touchdown reception in the second quarter:
"There was a possibility it was coming. I made one play. I have to tip my hat to all those guys who played the whole game."

On if he's ever run a play like that before:
"I've caught the ball before in the NFL. This is my first touchdown. I'm thankful that the coach called the play. The offense played well with everybody. I don't want to take the credit by myself."

QB Rex Grossman
On the adjustments the Chiefs made on defense in the second half:
"They did a good job of having the right defense called versus what we we're doing, and they got us a couple of times. There were some checks at the line we talked about. Next time we get those looks, we'll get to something else. It seemed like they did a good job of mixing it up, but I thought we played well enough in the first half to win the game with great defense. And obviously we have to be able to put two halves together, and we weren't able to do that today."

On the touchdown pass to John St. Clair in the second quarter:
"That was a big play in the game. Obviously, you don't look for him to go out on a route. And they didn't cover him, and we got an easy touchdown that way."

S Danieal Manning
On his interception:
"That was a nice play by 'Peanut' (Charles Tillman). That's what we do. We're always running to the ball. Fortunately, I was there to get the pick. I tried to return it as far as I could. I wanted to score."
WR Devin Hester
On the punt return for a touchdown:
"Our teammates stepped up to the challenge. When I found out I was that open was when I saw daylight. Through the grace of God and my teammates, they allowed everything to open up and get me to the end zone. With the players we have on this team, I think I can do anything. In practice, that's all we talk about and carry it out on game day."

Head coach Lovie Smith
On teams trying to beat the Bears at their own game with takeaways:
"I think across the league you're seeing that more and more. That's a part of what we do, and it seems like it is becoming a part of what other teams are trying to do, too. We have to realize they're going to do that, and it's our job to protect the ball. We talk a lot about ball security, and we need to continue to make progress with it and work on it in practice."
