Ryan Grice-Mullen (5-10, 187)Strengths: Grice-Mullen is a tremendous pass catcher who possesses soft hands and great speed. He runs smooth routes and has a great sense of timing. He has excellent body control and adjusts well to errant throws. He's a productive performer and displays playmaking ability.
Weaknesses: He lacks ideal size and struggles to get off the line of scrimmage in press coverage. He's not very explosive and doesn't consistently separate from defenders. He benefited from being in a pass-oriented offense and may struggle adapting to a pro-style scheme.
Steuber Says: Grice-Mullen's decision to enter the draft was a bit of a surprise, but after head coach June Jones decided to leave Hawaii for SMU, as well as the departures of signal-caller Colt Brennan and fellow wideouts Davone Bess and Jason Rivers, the situation in Hawaii didn't seem like paradise any longer.
Quote to Note: "Ryan is a little receiver, but he has a lot of great things going for him. Unfortunately, he got hurt with the Texans, and being hurt as a free agent doesn't give you much pull to stick around. All he needs to do is stay healthy.
"He's a great route runner, very polished. His routes are explosive. When he comes out of his breaks, he is super smooth. I never saw anyone beat him in man coverage. When we played Alabama my junior year, they couldn't defend him and we kept giving him the ball. He had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown that day. All Ryan needs is a little confidence to show what he can do, and I expect him to do some great things in this league." – former Hawaii Warriors and current Washington Redskins quarterback Colt Brennan.
