Passing Frenzy
Jim Miller finished the day 21-35 for 250 yards and one touchdown. Before going out Chandler completed 10 of 16 pass attempts for 111 yards and one touchdown meaning the two combined for 31-51 passing for 361 yards and two touchdowns.

Extra Session
The Bears played their third overtime game of the year and second against the Lions. With a 20-17 victory over Detroit the Bears improved their record in overtime to 1-2 and 3-8 overall snapping an eight-game losing streak.

Bounces not going the Bears way
John Jett's first punt of the game looked like it would bounce into the endzone after landing at the two-yard line, but it popped up and right into the hands of Eddie Drummed, who, downed it at the one-yard line.

Tough Start
The Bears looked to do something they haven't done all season, which is put points on the board on their first possession of the game. After the Bears moved inside the Lions 20-yard line the team brought Paul Edinger for a 35-yard field goal, but the kick sailed wide right.

Steak snapped
Paul Edinger entered the Lions game having made 13 consecutive field goals. The streak came to an end when the placekicker missed a 35-yard attempt on the Bears first possession of the game.

Double team Marty Booker (10 catches for 157 yards) and Dez White (8-106) both went over the century in the same game. The last time that happened was Dec. 30, 2001 against the Lions. Booker had nine receptions for 115 yards, while D'Wayne Bates had four catches for 107 yards in a 24-0 Bears win.

Eye on the prize
When Keith Traylor forced a Cory Schlesinger fumble in the first quarter and Mike Caldwell recovered the ball it was the 29th straight game the team has forced at lest one turnover dating back to Dec. 17, 2000 against the 49ers. That is the second longest steak in the NFL behind only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have done it in 35 consecutive games.

O-Line Change
Mike Gandy made his first career start at left tackle, while Kevin Dogins got the start at left guard. Both positions have had three different starters this season.

James "Big Cat" Williams went down with a right foot injury in the third quarter. He missed one series and then tried to come back in and play, but eventually gave way to Bernard Robertson who finished the remainder of the game at right tackle.

>TE filling in
Dustin Lyman had three catches for 25 yards against the Lions. Lyman received more playing time because John Davis left the game with an ankle injury.
