I never thought I would be glad to see a Chicago Bears season come to an end as badly as I wanted this one to come to an end.

The one thing I do notice in all the Chicago Papers is that the reporters are all willing to point the finger at everything but the coaching staff. This is where the bulk of the blame belongs. There can be no excuse for the type of play calling that I saw this year. Why would a team punt on the opponent's 38-yard line when you are down only by one score half way through the fourth quarter? That's Dick Jauron's call.

Then John Shoop called a three yard pass when it is third and eight. The classic draw play on third and 12. The list goes on and on.

Now I know the Bears have been riddled by injuries. In fact in 53 years of rooting for the Bears I do not remember a team with so many injuries, but that does not excuse poor play calling and poor game planning by the coaching staff.

What is even more unbelievable is that they are going to let this staff return? The management and the owners do not what a winning team in Chicago and that is a shame, because they have the most loyal fans in the world they are the only team that I know of that has fan clubs all over the world. They are treated as if they do not exist.
