Johnson heads to Philadelphia

NORMAN, Okla. — Lane Johnson is off to the City of Brotherly Love, as the Philadelphia Eagles selected him with the fourth overall pick of the NFL Draft Thursday evening.

Johnson, selected as the third offensive tackle out of the first four picks, becomes the 43rd first round pick in program history and first since 2010 when quarterback Sam Bradford, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, offensive tackle Trent Williams and tight end Jermaine Gresham all got the nod.

He also becomes the sixth Top 10 pick in the Bob Stoops era and the highest offensive lineman taken in that time frame—he matches Williams from three years ago.

And he's the 22nd Top 10 pick all-time for the Sooners.

Johnson serves as the fifth first rounder up front offensively in OU history.

The 6-foot-6, 303-pounder started 23 games at tackle throughout his OU career, including 11 at left tackle last season.
