WR Denarius Moore Among First Bengals Cuts

Things didn't work out for former Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore in Cincinnati. Moore was among the first Bengals cuts Monday as they get down to the maximum of 75 players.

The Bengals today made the following roster moves:

* Terminated the contract of fifth-year wide receiver Denarius Moore, releasing him to free agency. Moore signed with the Bengals as an unrestricted free agent for 2015 after four years with Oakland. He played in Cincinnati’s first three preseason games, with a 30-yard reception.

* Waived three veterans -- third-year DT Kwame Geathers, third-year LB Nico Johnson and second-year DE Sam Montgomery.

*Waived three college free agents -- G Chris Jasperse of Marshall, WR Desmond Lawrence of North Carolina A&T and TE John Peters of Mount St. Joseph.

Those moves were made Monday morning, getting down to 80 ahead of Tuesday's 4 p.m. deadline when teams need to whittle their rosters to 75. The Bengals cut two more players in the afternoon, making the following ensuing roster moves:

* Released rookie FB Marc Weisman of Iowa under the Waived/Injured category. If Weisman clears waivers tomorrow, he will revert to the Bengals’ Reserve/Injured list for 2015.

* Waived WR Tevin Reese, a first-year player from Baylor.

These additional moves leave the Bengals with 78 players on the roster. They need to cut three more by 4 p.m. tomorrow.
