Burfict Returns To Bengals Practice

Cincinnati has cleared fourth-year linebacker Vontaze Burfict to resume practicing with the team.

Welcome back, Vontaze Burfict.

The Bengals today cleared the fourth-year linebacker to resume practicing with the team.

Burfict may practice without counting against the 53-player roster limit for a period of up to 21 days.

He remains on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list, where he was placed Sept. 5 due to the need for continuing rehab of a knee injury.

Burfict had micro-fracture knee surgery in January. He played his last game more than one year ago.

The former Pro Bowler could be activated to the roster at any time during the 21-day period, per club decision.

Burfict was the Bengals’ leading tackler in both 2012 and 2013. He was a Pro Bowl selection for the 2013 season.

Burfict played in five games last season. He was placed on the Reserve/Injured list on Dec. 9 of last year, due to a knee injury suffered Oct. 26 vs. Baltimore.
