Burfict Activated By Bengals

Bengals activate linebacker Votaze Burfict, and cut wide receiver Greg Little to make room on the roster.

The Bengals today activated linebacker Vontaze Burfict to the roster from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

A fourth-year player, Burfict was the Bengals’ leading tackler in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons. He was a Pro Bowl selection for the 2013 season.

He played in five of the first seven games last season and missed Games 8-16 due to a knee injury suffered Oct. 26 vs. Baltimore.

He missed the 2015 preseason and was placed on Reserve/PUP on Sept. 5. He was cleared to rejoin the team in practice this past Thursday.

Burfict had micro-fracture knee surgery in January.

To make room on the 53-man roster for Burfict, the Bengals terminated the contract of fifth-year wide receiver Greg Little, releasing him to free agency.

Little played in six games for the Bengals last season and rejoined the team as a free agent for 2015 training camp. He led the team in preseason with 145 receiving yards but was inactive for Games 1-6 of the regular season.
