There Is A New Bengal In Town And A Pair Of Ex-Bengals

The Bengals' injury woes at cornerback have forced some moves, and the release of two Bengals.

The relatively healthy Bengals have acquired their first player off waivers this season as a result of some recent bumps and bruises that have taken their toll, especially in the secondary.

Incoming is former Ravens cornerback Asa Jackson.

On the way out are guard Dan France and linebacker Sean Porter.

From the Bengals:

The Bengals today made the following player moves:

Signed CB  Asa Jackson to the practice squad. Jackson (5-10, 183; Cal Poly) is a fourth-year NFL player. He was a fifth-round draft choice of Baltimore in 2012 and played in 18 games for the Ravens through Game 9 of this season, with 27 tackles on defense and three on special teams. He played in four games for the Ravens this season and blocked two kicks, a punt on Oct. 26 at Arizona and a PAT on Nov. 1 vs. San Diego. He was waived by the Ravens this past Nov. 20.

Released first-year G Dan France of Michigan State from the practice squad.

Waived third-year LB Sean Porter of Texas A&M from the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list. Porter had been medically cleared to resume practice with the Bengals earlier this month, and tomorrow was to mark the end of a 21-day window in which he was allowed to practice without counting against the roster limit.
