Bengals Address Shortage At Cornerback By Promoting Troy Hill To The 53-man Roster

Cincinnati transactions among cornerbacks puts first-year Troy Hill on the active roster and jettisons third-year player Chris Lewis-Harris to waivers.

Following the season-ending injury to cornerback Darqueze Dennard, the Bengals were down a man in the secondary, with the need to beef up. To that end, they made a couple of moves Saturday to bolster depth at the position.

In the aftermath, a Bengals rookie is called up from the practice squad, and a veteran is waived.

From the Bengals:

Signed rookie CB Troy Hill from the Cincinnati practice squad. Hill (5-11, 180; Oregon) signed with the Bengals last spring as a college free agent and was on the practice squad for Games 1-11. He played in all four Bengals preseason games, with eight tackles and two passes defensed.

Waived CB Chris Lewis-Harris. A third-year player from Tennessee-Chattanooga, Lewis-Harris played in five games this season (no statistics).
