Cincinnati's Road Game Vs. San Francisco Will Start Earlier Than Planned

The Dec. 20 Bengals-49ers contest at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara is now a day game.

That night-time Week 15 contest against the 49ers has undergone a change. It won't be starting at 8:30 p.m., as previously scheduled.

It's the second time this season that the Bengals have been flexed to a different time spot.

However, the Bengals are still on target for a franchise-record four prime times games this season. They played three such games in a row in November.

From the Bengals:

The NFL announced today that the Dec. 20 Bengals at San Francisco game, originally scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC television, has been flexed into a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS.

The Bengals have already played three nationally televised night games this season and have a fourth on the schedule for Dec. 28 at Denver, on ESPN’s Monday Night Football.

That game is not subject to being flexed, and the total of four prime-time games will tie a franchise record set twice previously, in 1990 and 2007.

Bengals prime-time games already played this season have been Thurs., Nov. 5 vs. Cleveland, Mon., Nov. 16 vs. Houston and Sun., Nov. 22 at Arizona.

The Arizona game was originally scheduled for an afternoon kickoff and was flexed into the Sunday night spot.

With those three games, the Bengals played prime-time games in three successive weeks for the first time in franchise history.
