Signings: Cincinnati Gives Second Chance To Ex-Ravens

Bengals sign a pair of players who were out of the league last season.

The Bengals on Monday made the following roster moves:

Signed free agent cornerback Chykie Brown (first name pronounced “chah-KEE”), a fifth-year NFL player from Texas.

Signed free agent offensive tackle Darryl Baldwin, a first-year pro from Ohio State.

Both players have Baltimore Ravens connections, and both were out of the league last season.

Brown (5-11, 191; Texas) has 54 games NFL experience, with six starts, over 2011-14 with Baltimore and the New York Giants. He also has four games of postseason experience, with two starts, all from 2012, when he played every game with the Ravens team that won Super Bowl XLVII vs. San Francisco.

He was a fifth-round draft choice of the Ravens in 2011, went to the Giants on waivers during the 2014 season and was with the Giants in the 2015 preseason. He was not with an NFL team during the 2015 regular season.

Baldwin (6-6, 305) signed with Baltimore as a college free agent in 2015. He was with the Ravens in preseason and played in one game before being placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list.

Baldwin also is trying to find his way back into the league. He was waived by the Ravens during final preseason cuts and was not with an NFL team this past season.
