OSTROSKI UPDATE: Not down for count just yet

Surgeons repaired right guard Jerry Ostroski's broken right tibia in Buffalo this afternoon and later determined he will not be out for the season. However, Gregg Williams said it is not known exactly how long Ostroski will be sidelined – just not for the season.

Corey Hulsey, who was on the Bills' practice squad last season and spent the spring in NFL Europe, took Ostroski's place with the first team during the Bills' lone practice of the day – a 4 p.m. session that lasted an hour and 45 minutes. Hulsey did fine in the preseason game vs. the Rams, with the exception of a holding call and a false start penalty. Williams was very pleased with Hulsey's performance and seems confident that he can succeed. But he added the team will be looking outside for help, if for no other reason but to improve depth with Ostroski down. Williams made it a point, however, to emphasize that the team always looks for help even when injuries aren't an issue. Right now it seems Hulsey is going to have his shot.
