Sammy Watkins Named Pepsi's Rookie of Week 7

In Week 7, Sammy Watkins caught nine passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings. Today, he was named Pepsi's Rookie of the Week for the second time in 2014.

Sammy Watkins was named Pepsi's Rookie of the Week today for the second time this season. Watkins defeated the likes of LB Telvin Smith, RB Tre Mason, WR Odell Beckham and CB Bashaud Breeland.

Against the Minnesota Vikings, Watkins caught nine passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Watkins' second touchdown came with one second remaining in the game and propelled the Buffalo Bills to a 17-16 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Watkins also won the award in Week 2. Currently, Watkins is first among all rookie wide receivers in receptions (35) and second in yards and touchdowns behind Kelvin Benjamin of the Carolina Panthers.

Some felt that the Bills gave up too much to trade up for Watkins in the 2014 NFL draft. Through seven weeks, Watkins has done a good job of making Buffalo's front office look wise in their decision.
