The Buffalo Bills have claimed safety Jerome Couplin off of waivers. Couplin was placed on the Detroit Lions' practice squad after being released on November 1st. The undrafted free agent out of William & Mary appeared in eight games with Detroit, playing primarily on special teams.

Couplin filled the vacancy the Bills had after placing Kenny Ladler on the injured reserve. Buffalo is lacking depth at safety, with only Aaron Williams, Duke Williams and Da'Norris Searcy on their roster.
