Bills/Jets Game to be Held Outside of Buffalo

The Buffalo Bills and New York Jets will play this week as planned, but the game will not take place in Buffalo. Pittsburgh, Detroit and Washington, D.C. are all possible venue options for the team.

The Buffalo Bills will not be hosting the New York Jets in Buffalo this weekend. There is an estimated four feet of snow at Ralph Wilson Stadium that will make playing there impossible. The NFL stated that the move was due to safety.

"Public safety is the first priority," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Thursday. "We have been in discussions regarding potential alternatives. We will provide an update later today."

Instead, the game will be held at an alternate venue. Right now, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. have been named as possible candidates. The Steelers are on bye and the Lions and Redskins are both on the road. The venue isn't the only thing that's changing about the game either. It's likely that the Bills and Jets will play on Monday. Buffalo has been unable to practice and this will give the team a chance to prepare for the Jets.

Russ Brandon, President of the Bills, will hold a conference call tonight at 6;15 to give an update on the team's unique situation entering Week 12.
