Anthony Dixon Wins AFC ST Player of Week 12

The Buffalo Bills extended their lead over the New York Jets to 24-3 after Anthony Dixon blocked a Ryan Quigley punt. Today, the NFL named Dixon as the AFC Special Teams Player of Week 12.

Anthony Dixon has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of Week 12. 

The Buffalo Bills were up 17-3 with about eight minutes remaining in the third quarter. The New York Jets faced a 4th and 15 from their own 10 yard line and brought in Ryan Quigley to punt. Dixon found himself lined up against safety Jaiquawn Jarrett on the play. The running back was able to push Jarrett back towards the punter and get his left hand on the ball. Manny Lawson recovered the blocked punt in the end zone for the touchdown. 

The play was listed as a Can't-Miss Play on the NFL's official website.

Dixon's outstanding individual effort was acknowledged by the NFL today. He became the third Bills player to be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week. Dan Carpenter won the award in Week 1 and C.J. Spiller took the title in Week 2.
