Bills Fans Raise Over $100K for Talley Family

Tim Graham of The Buffalo News wrote a brilliant piece on Darryl Talley this week. The former Buffalo Bill has fallen on hard times, both physically and financially. Bills fans immediately wanted to help one of the team's most beloved players. Two days later, a large amount of money was raised.

Two days.

That's all it took for Buffalo Bills and West Virginia fans to raise over $100,000 for Darryl Talley and his family. Tim Graham of The Buffalo News wrote a piece on the former Bill this week titled, Broke and Broken.

In the piece, we learned that Talley's mind is deteriorating. He's had suicidal thoughts and he's facing financial troubles. Financially, he's broke. He's receiving the NFL's total-permanent disability plan that pays him $39,000 a year. He qualifies for plan A, which pays $120,000 a year, but the NFL claims he didn't file his paperwork in time. Read Graham's piece on Talley; you won't regret it.

Many Bills fans read the article and wanted to help. Frank Thomas Croisdale had the idea to start a gofundme page with a goal of raising $100,000. Two short days later, $103,000 (and counting) has been raised for the Talley family. During the holiday season, Bills and Mountaineer fans have found a way to give thanks to one of their most beloved players.
