Schwartz is a "Great Candidate" to Jackson

Fred Jackson thought that Jim Schwartz did a terrific job with Buffalo's defense in 2014. Today, the running back said that Schwartz is a great candidate for Buffalo's head coaching position.

Jim Schwartz may have been the defensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills in 2014, but running back Fred Jackson had nothing but positive things to say about him on Monday. Appearing on WGR 550 on Monday, Jackson praised Schwartz and the job he did with the Bills in 2014. Jackson believes that Schwartz would be a terrific head coach for the Bills.

"Schwartz I love. He's a great dude. I've heard nothing but good things coming from Detroit when he got out here. Then him being on the coaching staff last year, I got a chance to get close to him and know him. I think he would do an excellent job."

It's hard to argue with Jackson. Schwartz's defense finished fourth in total defense, third in passing yards allowed, first in sacks and sixth in interceptions. His squad was always prepared and was a big reason why Buffalo only allowed 30+ points once in 2014.

Jackson said that players would certainly speak up for Schwartz if the Pegulas, Russ Brandon or Doug Whaley asked for their opinion.

"They may reach out to some players, and if they do, they're going to hear nothing but great things from Schwartz. He did a tremendous job with our defense last year. He did a great job when he was in Detroit. He's a great candidate and I know guys in that locker room will play hard for him just because we've been around him, we've grown to respect him and you've seen what he did with our defense last year. He'll get guys ready and motivated to play."

If Schwartz ends up with the head coaching job, the heart and soul of the Bills offense will certainly be excited.
