Pepper Johnson to Interview for Giants DC Job

Pepper Johnson may join Tom Coughlin (pictured) as the Giants DC. Johnson will interview for the New York Giants' vacant defensive coordinator job according to Adam Schefter. Johnson served as Buffalo's DL coach in 2014.

The Buffalo Bills lost one coach to a homecoming of sorts when Tyrone Wheatley joined Michigan's staff as their running backs coach. Two, if you count Doug Marrone leaving the Bills to literally go home. Now, another coach has an opportunity for a homecoming.

The New York Giants have requested an interview with Pepper Johnson for their vacant defensive coordinator position according to Adam Schefter. Johnson was Buffalo's defensive line coach in 2014. Buffalo's starting DL unit finished with 40 sacks in 2014 and were looked upon as one of the best positional units in football.

Johnson did a terrific job with Buffalo's starting unit, as well as backups like Jarius Wynn, Stefan Charles and Corbin Bryant. If Johnson impresses the Giants, he could return to the team he played with from 1986-1992.
