Rex Ryan wants Jim Schwartz to Stay On as DC

Jim Schwartz's job as Buffalo's defensive coordinator seems safe according to Adam Caplan of ESPN. Schwartz did a tremendous job as Buffalo's DC in 2014.

It appears that Jim Schwartz will be safe as the Buffalo Bills' defensive coordinator.

Adam Caplan, an ESPN NFL Insider, says that Rex Ryan has reached out to Schwartz.

"Rex Ryan has told Jim Schwartz he would like him to stay as his DC, a source said. Schwartz has coached 3-4 before, but it has been a while."

While Ryan has run primarily out of a 3-4 defense with the New York Jets, there's no telling that he'd make Schwartz switch over to that defensive front. If anything, the Bills could run more of a hybrid defense in 2015.

Under Schwartz, the Bills defense finished fourth in total defense, third in passing yards allowed, first in sacks and sixth in interceptions in 2014.
