Pegula Issues Statement on Incognito Signing

Terry Pegula believes that Richie Incognito is ready to move forward and return to the NFL. On Monday, Pegula issued a statement on Buffalo signing the guard.

Can Richie Incognito stay incognito during his second tenure with the Buffalo Bills? Owner Terry Pegula believes so.

Today, Pegula released a statement on the team’s official website about Incognito’s signing:

"I personally met with Richie, along with Doug Whaley, Rex Ryan and Kim regarding an opportunity to earn a spot on the Buffalo Bills roster. Obviously, we all discussed Richie's past experience in the NCAA and NFL. We are convinced that Richie is prepared to move forward and has and will continue to take the necessary steps to improve himself as a person and a teammate. Following discussion with the rest of the coaching staff, we as an organization will provide him with the opportunity to do so."

It was a slow day for news when the Incognito story broke, so it seemed that everyone had to share their opinion on the signing. The bottom line is that Buffalo’s ownership is comfortable with bringing Incognito aboard. He’s missed the last season and a half over his past transgressions and now another team is willing to give him a chance. What happens next is up to Incognito. For the Bills, it was a low risk, high reward signing.
