Buffalo Ranks 10th in Super Bowl XLIX Viewers

Among all of the markets in the country, Buffalo ranked tenth in Super Bowl XLIX viewership. Seventy-five percent of the homes in the Buffalo area were watching the big game.

The city of Buffalo loves football. That's a given, but the Super Bowl XLIX viewership ratings have been released and the Buffalo market was ranked tenth in the nation.

Buffalo received a 53.6 overnight rating and a 75 share. That means that 75 percent of households in the Buffalo area with televisions were watching the game. 

Here's a look at the entire top ten viewership markets:

1. Boston: 61.0/85

2. New Orleans: 55.7/72

3. Phoenix: 55.6/82

T4. Detroit: 55.0/71

T4. Norfolk, Va.: 55.0/76

5. Chicago: 54.9/72

6. Kansas City: 54.5/75

T8. Denver: 53.7/79

T8. Indianapolis: 53.7/74

10. Buffalo: 53.6/75

Oddly enough, Seattle came in 17th in overnight ratings with a 52.1 rating with an 89 share. Buffalo represented themselves well on Super Bowl Sunday, but just imagine what local ratings will be like when the Buffalo Bills return to the Super Bowl someday.
